Not long ago, working remotely was a daunting task in itself but thank God we’ve lived to work in 2018 where you can call in sick and request to work from home.

Whether you are working from the office or the other side of the world, you can easily get work done from wherever.  Not long ago, working remotely was a daunting task in itself but thank God we’ve lived to work in 2018 where you can call in sick and request to work from home. This has been made possible by the creation of different apps with different functionalities e.g. communication. Here are a few apps that you should check out.

With the number of online jobs steadily increasing, freelancers have as well increased. People are increasingly ditching the traditional offices for anywhere with reliable Wi-Fi or even setting up home offices. Slack is the real deal for such people. It serves as a virtual office. Employees are able to send messages and share files in real-time. The different teams or departments can create their own channel and chat amongst themselves even when in different time zones. The idea of just sending a short text with an emoji as compared to sending an email makes one feel like they are not working but it’s still work-stuff. Slack is easy to customize and allows one to archive their conversations. Is it just me or does Slack sound cooler than email? Try, ‘I’ll slack you later.’ VS ‘I’ll email you later.’

(Fuzu’s #kenya-team-culture may be the most fun place you can visit on the internet when team members take a break to jokes and memes).

In Yoga, Asana means sitting or assuming a particular posture where you are comfortable no matter how difficult it can be. Keeping track of your projects and those you’ve assigned to others can be difficult as well if you don’t have the right tools at your disposal.

Asana is a project management tool that enables you to comfortably keep track of all your tasks. Team members can create and share task lists and assign delegate tasks to individuals, this keeps everyone on the same page. You can easily keep track of the assignments from one central dashboard, email notifications when a task is overdue or completed.

This is not your average note-taking app. Evernote automatically syncs across all your devices- mobile phone, tablet and computer. It can take anything you throw at it, literally; text notes, voice notes, bookmarks from the web and photos to make your to-do list more visual.

Evernote’s web clipper feature allows you to save links to interesting articles you’ve come across to read later or any other content. What’s even better is that you can share your notes with peers. If you happen to forget where you noted something, Evernote search feature will help you locate it.

Google analytics

Let’s admit it; Google has become the big brother we never had in almost all aspects of life, both in personal and industrial applications. Many internet-based start-ups have particularly loved one Google product called Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a freemium web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. It enables real-time tracking of different website metrics. These metrics include User traffic, traffic channel, pages visited mostly by users on your website, AdWords campaign performance etc.
