The biggest risk is not taking any risk

They say to be an entrepreneur is like being a doctor, it’s a calling and not everyone can do it. Research has shown that most entrepreneurs quit after the first year; It takes a lot of hard work and dedication. So how do you make sure that you aren’t part of this statistic?
1. Focus on your goal :
Neil Patel, a contributor at entrepreneur.com describes a good goal as:
- A cause bigger than yourself
- Something that you believe in
- Something that benefits humankind
- Something that requires you to keep hustling every day
- Something that is truly attainable
- Something that you can quantify or measure
Focus on what made you decide to delve into entrepreneurship and this will keep you going on a daily basis.
2. Surround yourself with supporters:
A good support system will give you the drive and motivation to keep pushing. Be it friends, family, colleagues, etc find a group of people who genuinely want to see you succeed and will make it their goal to help you in your journey. You will need all the encouragement that you can get.
3. Keep networking:
Get into the habit of creating and nurturing a network of contacts. These contacts will be able to give you good constructive advice and guide you all throughout your entrepreneurship journey. You will also be able to exchange ideas with them.
4. Maintain your health:
You will be working for long hours at a time so it’s important to maintain a healthy lifestyle to keep you going. Workout at least 3 times a week, eat nutritiously dense foods and get an adequate amount of sleep.
5. Risks are a good sign:
Learn to embrace the risks that come with entrepreneurship. It will be a part of you and your business. As the saying goes, “The biggest risk is not taking any risk.” As you grow your business continue to take bigger risks to see success come to fruition. Believe in what you’re doing and you will succeed!
