MCFp works within Mathare slums and its environment. Mathare Slum is one of the oldest and the worst slums in Africa. Situated three miles east of Nairobi City’s central business district, Mathare slum is home to over 800,000 people. In one of our livelihood programmes, we work in both poor rural and poor informal urban settlements to provide adolescent girls with sanitary protection (reusable sanitary towels) and help bridge disparities between adolescent girls and boys both in primary and secondary education in Kenya.
