The company requires a technician to handle farm related activities including; planning and management of field trials, crop health management, soil analysis, interpretation of soil analysis results, weed identification and research related to agronomy, pest management, fungal diseases and nutrition. The candidate will also be expected to support the company regarding communications between the company and regulatory bodies (KEPHIS, organic certification bodies, etc.). The candidate will be responsible for training ground staff and familiarizing them with the above. The roles mentioned above will take place across multiple locations in Kenya and Uganda.
- Planning, developing and managing trials.
Responsible for the health of all crops in all locations.
Research in the fields of agronomy, pest control, disease management and plant nutrition.
Soil analysis and interpretation of results.
Weed identification and documentation.
Creation of a weed, pest and disease database.
Support and communicate with legal and regulatory bodies.
Writing weekly reports for all crops, fields and farms.
Engaging in trainings and workshops.
