Job Summary

Tulaa is an award-winningVC-backed technology start-up that is disrupting the agriculture sector inAfrica. We are a marketplace for small-scale farmers to access inputs on creditand buyers at harvest time. Our vision is to become the leading marketplacedriving smallholder commerce in Africa.
The Area Manager will be responsible for managing andsupporting a team of sales agents within a specified region in order to achieveset targets for inputs, credit, and market linkage. The Area Manager will alsobe responsible for managing retailer relationships within his/her assignedregion and supporting Tulaa’s marketing efforts therein. We are looking for aleader who can motivate and inspire his/her team.
We are looking for managers to work in the following county Kinangop


● Manage and support sales agents within assigned region to achieve/exceed sales targets● Report to Sales Director, dotted-line relationship to heads of Inputs, Credit, and Market Linkage
● Monitor and manage to set weekly KPIs for inputs, credit, and market linkage (e.g., farmers onboarded, input sales, loan repayment, customer satisfaction)
● Enable the sales team to build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
● Cover area and duties of Tulaabigwa(s) within assigned region in case of short term absence
● Identify, on-board, and support agro-vet retailers to promote Tulaa’s services; Manage retailer relationships and ensure availability of inputs
● Support Tulaa’s marketing and branding efforts in assigned region
● Coordinate harvests and trades with Tulaabigwa and Market Linkage Team
● Collect farm gate prices in assigned region 3x per week
● Build relationships with local stakeholders (e.g., area chiefs, ward agricultural officers, heads of cooperatives/circles) to support with loan recovery, farmer training, and farmer acquisition
● Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives; Collect feedback from farmers, retailers, field staff, and other relevant parties. Synthesize this information and relay the insights to Sales Director in a professional and timely manner
● Continuously build your own skills by keeping informed about trends in the industry, reading professional blogs/publications, etc.
● Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as the laws of Kenya
● Contribute to raising the bar across the company in terms of performance, reliability, EQ and grit
About You● Bachelor's degree required
● At least 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years managing a team of 3 or more people
● At least 2 years of experience in agriculture or rural financial services
● Able to manage to set targets and KPIs, track progress and identify roadblocks along the way
● Comfortable with computers and email, capable of performing basic calculations in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
● Proven ability to get groups to work together effectively

● Problem solver - you can think on your feet and resolve unforeseen issues

● Fluent in English, Swahili, and local language of assigned region
