Job Summary


As the Carpentry Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading in day-to-day management of the Lynk Workshop, as well as conducting roaming quality control with fundis across Nairobi.
You are a carpentry master. Have exceptionally high standards, and know how to work with fundis to get them to work with quality and speed. You are strict, willing to be tough, and don’t accept ‘ok’ as good enough, but can also use a softer support, coaching, and training approach where required.

Responsibilities


The main areas of work are:

  1. Quoting and technical drawings
  • Do technical drawings to satisfy requests coming in
  • Develop competitive quotes

  1. Workshop management
  • Work with fundis in workshop to explain new orders
  • Ensure that orders are delivered to quality on time
  • Conduct regular quality oversight
  • Ensure that stocks and tools are well-kept

  1. Field quality control
  • Conducting site visits to assess quality of physical products
  • Conducting spot checks on service delivery
  • Project managing jobs that go wrong
  • Interviewing and speaking with customers to assess quality

  1. Supplier management
  • Identify and assess potential material providers
  • Manage relationships



Job Requirements

Required education: Vocational school
Required relevant work experience: 3 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: native | Written: native)
