Job Summary

Cytonn Investments is an independent investments management firm, with offices in Nairobi - Kenya and D.C. Metro - U.S. We are primarily focused on offering alternative investment solutions to global and local institutional investors, individual high net-worth investors, and diaspora investors interested in the East-African region.

Qualification

  1. Must have 10+ years of strong business operation and senior management experience; ideally currently working in a similar position or having worked in a similar position / senior management role in an education services provider, e.g. (CEO, COO, General Manager),
  2. At least a Second Class Upper Division Degree in Education, Business Management, Human Resource Management, or a related field is preferred,
  3. Be a holder of a Master’s Degree relating to Education, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or other relevant fields. Having a PhD is an added advantage.
  4. Demonstrate detailed knowledge of legal and regulatory issues governing educational institutions,
  5. Demonstrate leadership and management skills at senior management level.
  6. Must demonstrate strong skills in: organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning,
  7. Should demonstrate experience in financial planning and analysis.
  8. Should be flexible and able to multi-task; can work within a multi-cultural, fast-moving environment, while demonstrating resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems;
  9. Should demonstrate ability to cultivate and manage productive relationships with team members, public officials, funders and lenders, other staff, and the community
  10. Demonstrate ability to express ideas clearly, verbally and in writing,
  11. Strong computer skills, including high level of proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word,
  12. Creativity, entrepreneurial, and a self-driven attitude towards work,
  13. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of the School,
  14. Strong problem-solving skills, with a bias to a sense of urgency,


Responsibilities

  1. Manage the development and implementation of the Cytonn Education Service’ strategic plan, inclusive of the annual operating plans, with concrete timelines and set targets,
  2. Oversee the development and implementation of strategic and business plans for all entities under Cytonn Education Services,
  3. Create, through all dealings, an atmosphere of academic excellence in all subject areas represented by CES that will grow the reputation of CES as a leader in teaching, research, and community service,
  4. Support and collaborate to build excellence in teaching, research and service through overall management
  5. Identify and fill human resource gaps in order to attain the company’s business strategy,
  6. Build all the teams committed to working with CES in fulfilling the vision, goals, and purpose to ensure the long-term sustainability of all the education arms under CES,
  7. Oversee the hiring of managerial positions,
  8. Create a working environment that promotes growth, retention and great performance,
  9. Oversee the development, board approval and implementation of the company’s operating policies and procedures.
  10. Champion the maintenance of culture and values across the company, and ensure alignment with Cytonn Group’s culture and values,
  11. Create a positive company culture that encourages hard work and innovation, and gives CES as a competitive contender in the education sector,
  12. Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  13. Oversee the development, approval and implementation of policies to govern financial activity in the company,
  14. Oversee the development and implementation of a funding strategy for all initiatives under Cytonn Education Services,
  15. Monitor the financial performance of all initiatives under Cytonn Education Services against set targets and report the same to the Board,
  16. Act as the company’s primary spokesperson,
  17. The CEO shall report to the Board of Directors of Cytonn Education Services,
  18. Build networks and partnerships with other organisations that have synergies and are aligned with CES’s strategy and vision.
