Job Summary

The Kenya National Spelling Bee (KNSB) is a registered educational Organization in Kenya, and is also a founding Member of the African Spelling Bee Consortium.
KNSB is Kenya’s largest English Language Spelling Championship started in a quest to promote a reading culture and help Learners improve their communication skills; develop & nurture intra-personal skills and values such as self-esteem,self-awareness, confidence, personal integrity, encourage critical literacy & reflection; inspire intercultural understanding by creating learning communities in which Learners can increase their understanding of language and culture deliberately designed to help them become more globally engaged.

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic part-time coding teacher who wants to share their love of coding with kids.This is a part time role which will take 3 hours of your week.
Qualifications
  • Must have strong technology skills.
  • Experience with at least one coding language: HTML, C++, Python, PHP or similar.
  • Excellent facilitator with the ability to motivate, direct, and train people and collaborate and interact with others effectively and productively.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a strong attention to detail.


Responsibilities

1. Develop specific computer science curriculum with various classes that could entail game programming, app programming, logic and critical thinking. Courses should be developmentally appropriate and engaging.
2. Perform ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the instructional technology.
Effectively manage the classroom by implementing discipline, time management, and organization consistent with school policy
3. . Design and follow a complete teaching plan.
4. Organize learning material and resources.
5. Assess students performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on regular basis.



Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 2 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
