Job Summary

Job purpose:
To install and maintain an efficient Cold Chain System for safe storage of vaccines and other Medicines
Qualifications:

Must have an Ordinary Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from a recognized institution

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the under listed vacant posts that exist in Kalaki District Local Government. Application forms (PSC Form 3, revised 2008) to be completed in triplicate (Original handwriting) and the forms are obtainable from all Secretaries District Service Commission countrywide or Secretary Public Service Commission (PSC). Serving Officers must route their applications through their heads of departments who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay.

Only Certified photocopies of Academic Certificates, Transcripts, National Identity card and other relevant documents as well as 3 recent passport size photographs and day time telephone contact should accompany each application form. The application should be submitted in triplicate to the address below not later than 6th March 2020. Late applications will not be considered and only successful applicants will be contacted. For detailed information, please refer to the Job Description and specifications for local government 2011, 2017, and Schemes of service for Administrative cadres, accountants and auditors respectively.

Responsibilities

i. Planning, budgeting, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating cold chain activities in Health units;
ii. Installing, maintaining and servicing refrigerators and other cold chain equipment;
iii. Preparing and keeping an up-to-date cold chain profile;
iv. Reporting requisitioning and accounting for equipment and allocated resources;
v. Adhering to professional code of Conduct and ethics;
vi. Participating in research activities;
vii. Compiling and submitting reports;
xii. Participating in immunization programmes;
xiii. Providing safe custody for the equipments and maintain their functionality; and
xiv. Conduct Staff Performance Appraisals.

Job Requirements

Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree
Required relevant work experience: 12 months
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
