Job Summary

The primary role of the intern will be to support the project in capturing, preparation and dissemination of information and communication materials and documents, and contribute to the implementation of the project and delivery of outputs in the assigned areas.

Responsibilities

a) Information / data Capture
Attend events and capture high quality photographic images, audio and video messages of project activities and maintain a detailed and well classified catalogue of key messages for future reference.

b) Information preparation
Edit selected photographic, audio and video messages for quality or relevance on project activities and develop related storylines to articulate specific project themes or messages addressing targeted audience.
Attend project meetings, participate and. contribute towards development, finalization and implementation of the ILO BUSY project communication strategy
c) Documentation of communication materials
Write stories, articles and briefs about events as well as current affairs about project activities; develop case studies on project activities including joint activities with key stakeholders or implementing partners.
Liaise with communication departments of key stakeholders and media with regard to project activities to alert them on key project events that require publicity.
d) Information dissemination
Liaise with communication units of ILO Country Office in Dar es Salaam or any other ILO Office as may be necessary in order to explain, clarify or articulate messages as developed by the project.
Monitor ILO BUSY project presence in the media and keep track of articles written about the project activities in Kilifi, Busia and Kitui counties or any other part of Kenya.
Participate in the development and uploading content to project website or other social media network in order to ensure relevance and project visibility.
e) Any other duties
Undertake any other relevant duties that may be assigned by the Project Manager/Director.

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: one month
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
