Job Application Procedure
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts which exist in Wakiso District Local Government and specified Municipal Councils. Applications on PSF 3 or ESC form for Teachers, should be addressed and submitted to the Secretary, District Service Commission – Wakiso P.O. Box 7218 Kampala or [email protected] not later than 12/12/2020. Women and Persons with Special needs are encouraged to apply.
Strictly observe the following:
1. For those already in service, applying for senior positions, PSF 3 should be routed through your respective Responsible Officer who should observe the closing date
2. Applications must bear the title of the post applied for as well as the reference number.
3. PHOTOSTAT copies of academic certificates and transcripts fully certified by the awarding institution must be attached to the applications.
4. Photocopy of your National ID.

Job purpose:
To coordinate all gender, culture, and community-based services, programmes and projects in the district/urban council and facilitate their development.
Qualifications:
  • An Honours Degree in Arts, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Rural Development studies or Social Work and Social Administration or any related field from a recognized University or Institution.
  • Should have a working experience of at least 3 years at a level of a Community Development Officer in government or equivalent level of experience in a reputable organization in the field of social development or community-based services.

Responsibilities

i. Coordinating the effective delivery of gender, culture and community based services in the District/ Urban Council;
ii. Supervising gender, culture and community centres and other community establishments;
iii. Monitoring and evaluating the effective implementation of National and local laws and policies on gender, labour and social development;
iv. Advising Council on matters regarding gender, culture and community social developments;
v. Liaising with NGOs, Community Based Organizations and other stakeholders on matters regarding gender, culture and community development;
vi. Monitoring and evaluating gender, culture and community awareness and involvement in socioeconomic development initiatives;
vii. Coordinating the collection, analysis and dissemination of gender, culture and community information; and
viii. Supervising, registering and promoting gender, culture and community development groups

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 3 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
