Job application procedure
Applications should be submitted in triplicate on Public Service Commission Form 3 (revised 2008) and submitted to the Secretary District Service, P.O.Box 1 Madi Okollo, to be received not later than 29th February 2020 The application Form are obtained from the Public Service Commission Offices, Farmers House, Second Floor, Parliament Avenue Kampala and District Service Commission Offices of Madi Okollo and Service Commissions Countrywide Applications should bear the Title of the POST: as well as the Reference number specified against the vacancy. Applicant should attach three (3) recent passport size photographs, Certified copies of their academic Certificates, Transcripts/result slips, copies of Registration Certificates and valid practicing Certificates license (for Health worker who are by law to register with relevant professional councils) plus other relevant documents. Hand written application with detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) will be accepted Applicants already in Government Service should route their applications through their Responsible Officers who must be informed of the closing date to avoid delay. Applicants who shall not hear from the District Service Commission on completion of the Recruitment and Selection exercise should consider themselves unsuccessful.
Job Purpose:
To facilitate and empower communities for community development
Qualification:
An honors degree in the Development Studies, Arts, Social Sciences, Social work and Social Administration and Management Science from a recognized University or Institution.

Responsibilities


i. Planning and budgeting for development programmes at the community level;
ii. Supervising staff that is involved in uplifting the social and economic welfare of local communities;
iii. Organizing local communities to effectively participate in development initiatives;
iv. Sensitizing communities on gender issues, social rights, roles and obligations;
v. Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on community development programmes and projects;
vi. Promoting the equal participation of all communities in development programmes;
vii. Promoting the creation and growth of functional groups for the improved welfare of the population;
viii. Training communities in literacy programmes and income generating activities;
ix. Providing advising on the effective mobilization of the community for development; and
x. Sensitizing communities to adhere to existing legislation on gender and child rights.

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 2 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
