Job Summary

Reports to: Community Lead
ABOUT THE ROLE
The main task of the Community Programs Associate is to develop and support the implementation of data-driven programs for the TIV communities. This is to be done in close collaboration with the Community managers and TIV departments. The person should be open-minded and results-driven to join the team in Kampala while acting as the direct liaison between The Innovation Village Community Managers of Gulu, Jinja and Mbarara and The Innovation Village.
Qualifications:
  • Open-minded, collaborative team player
  • Experience in developing and implementing community programs, ideally in a startup environment
  • Experience in the coordination of programs, project management experience is a plus
  • Data management experience

Responsibilities

KEY RESULT AREAS
  1. Development of entrepreneurship-centered programs for each hub, tailored to the specific needs of the location. This includes:
    1. Workshops, event series, hackathons, incubation & accelerator programs
  2. Support the community managers in the implementation of the programs. This includes:
    1. Coordination of the programs, including the promotion of each program, sending out calls for applications, reviewing applications, selecting participants, recruiting facilitators, coordinating necessary logistics for each program
  3. Support and coordinate the successful replication of the Place events periodically; i.e, Founders Lab, Soiree, Open Day. 
  4. Collaborate with the M&E team to collect data to inform community programs. This could be in form of;
    1. Baseline survey
    2. Needs finding to understand the data gaps
    3. Stakeholder mapping and analysis
    4. Quarterly data collection for reporting
6.     Analyze the data to strategically inform program development and decision making


Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 3 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
