Job Summary

Under the supervision the Communications Specialist the consultant will be documenting health, education and learning sectors through professional photography as a strategic platform to strengthen the understanding of child rights and as an avenue to tell the situation of children in Uganda through pictures. In addition, the UCO will be able to showcase the impact of the Government of Uganda-UNICEF Uganda Country Programme activities on the beneficiaries. The Communication Section will use/upload the photo database with new photos to reflect the work of the UCO. The photographer will produce professional and high quality photographs related to special events, workshops, sector activities, project/event launches, donor mission visits within and outside Kampala.


Responsibilities

  1. Travel to the field/within Kampala to document UNICEF events/launches, activities, workshops, missions via still photograph to showcase UCO work in action, children and women in the project areas of the country office.
  2. Conduct post production and production of the images undertaken
  3. Submit each image with a detailed caption in MS Word format on date, location, name, age and identity of the subject as appropriate.
  4. The images submitted must be relevant to the assignment/specific interest at that time and they should not be less than 100 pictures if the assignment is for 1-2 days. For assignments, more than 2 days, the images should not be less than 250.
