An exciting opportunity as an Executive Chef for a well-established hotel in Nairobi has just opened! The successful candidate needs to be a team leader who inspires and motivates his team to grow, whilst also looking at promoting the hotel. He/She must be stress resilient with a very flexible approach and with a “CAN DO” Attitude. International Experience is a MUST!
- Develop and apply standard operating procedures.
Ensure that Food cost levels are maintained as specified in the budget.
Develop and create new a la carte, buffet and banquet menus.
Prepare proper recipe costing for all menu items.
Ensure consistency in food production.
Be responsible for all production of food items for guests and staff.
Follow new trends in food production.
Responsible to keep all equipment in good working order.
Ensure that cleanliness & hygiene of the workplace and staff are always of highest standard.
Recruit and continuously train the kitchen staff.
Hold regular staff meetings with the kitchen staff.
Write Weekly and Monthly reports as requested.
