The Dentist’s job exists to coordinate and provide dentistry services, research and training inthe hospital
i. Bachelor of Dental Surgery from a recognized institution.
ii. Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
iii. Valid Practice License.
iv. Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.
v. Proficiency in computer applications.
vi. At least three years of working experience as a Dentist in a busy hospital
i. Meeting with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, performing regular cleanings
and other preventative procedures, and establish a plan for better dental hygiene.
ii. Performing dental procedures, such as extractions, root canals, and filling cavities.
iii. Correcting bite issues and overcrowding of teeth.
iv. Applying helpful agents to teeth, such as sealants or whiteners.
v. Prescribing medications for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics.
vi. Giving clients sedatives or anesthesia prior to administering treatments.
vii. Using tools, such as drills, probes, brushes, or mirrors, to examine and treat teeth and
viii. Keeping records relating to the oral health of patients and the treatments given to them.
ix. Involvement in training and research on Dental issues in tertiary care.
x. Any other duties that may be assigned by the Head of the Department.
