Deputy County Director of Agriculture

i. Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
ii. Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than five (5) years in Public Service or Private Sector.
iii. Demonstrate a high Degree of Professional and technical competence as reflected in work performance and results.
iv. Be a strategic thinker and result oriented.
v. Familiar with the County Objectives in Agricultural Projects.
vi. Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
vii. Proficiency in Computer Applications.
viii. Relevant Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
ix. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
b) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e) Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

i.    Design agriculture machinery components and equipment using new technologies.
ii.    Implement the County Machinery Act and other relevant legislation.
iii.    Test Agricultural Machinery and Equipment to ensure that they perform properly.
iv.    Design housing and environments to maximize animals’ comfort, health and productivity.
v.    Design agricultural storage and processing and structures.
vi.    Supervise the construction and implementation of Agricultural and Livestock structures Agricultural processing and structure, irrigation and drainage structures.
vii.    Undertake research and analysis of daily operations of farmers.
viii.    Come up with new technologies to improve agricultural production and processes.
ix.    Make environment safe by improving farming conditions.
x.    In charge of administration and maintenance of tractor machines.
xi.    Design soil and water conservation structures.
xii.    Design maintenance schedules and programs for farm machines.
xiii.    In charge of all field operations in liason with Extension Officers.
xiv.    Any other duties as assigned by the County Director of Agriculture.
