Job Summary

Our client, a State Regulatory Corporation and a major player in the financial services sector in Kenya wishes to recruit a Deputy General Manager - Finance who will be interacting with the CEO and senior managers.

Applicants are required to immediately initiate self clearance (Comply with Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya) from:-

• Kenya Revenue Authority
• Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
• Department of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
• Higher Education Loans Board
• A Credit Reference Bureau


• Ensuring timely preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to both Management and the Board

• Formulating and implementing effective internal control systems to monitor financial accounting and safeguard assets from waste through policies, procedures, checks and balances
• Developing an audit plan with Internal and External Auditors for interim and year end audits
• Coordinating preparation of budgets in liaison with Deputy General Managers and manage financial resources effectively and efficiently through implementation of strict budget control measures
• Ensuring that accounting standards, IFRS, and other regulations are complied with
• Ensuring the assessment and collection of insurance premiums from the banking industry
• Ensuring legal, statutory and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions
• Conducting performance appraisals and performance management to staff and recommend appropriate training for the staff
• Promoting the highest possible standards of integrity, transparency and accountability in finance management practices
• Ensuring the appropriateness of key assumptions included in the strategic plans and annual budgets proposals and provide advice to senior management
• Implementing decisions relating to Finance Strategy, Policy and Directives
