Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant positions that exist in Fort Portal Municipal Council. Applications should be submitted in triplicates on Public Service Commission Form 3 (Revised 2008) to the Secretary District Service Commission, Kabarole P.O. Box 38 Fort Portal to be received not later thaService Commission Offices, situated on 2nd floor, Farmers House, Kampala, and District Service Commission Offi ces all over the Country. Application should bear the title of the post clearly applied for and its reference number specified against the vacancy. Applicants MUST attach on each application form certified photocopies of all academic certificates and transcripts. Where applicable, Registration Certificates and annual practicing licenses should also be attached. A recent passport size photograph and a copy of the National Identity Card should be attached on each application form. Employment documents should also be provided where necessary. Serving Officers MUST route their applications through the Accounting Offi cer/Responsible offi cer who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delays. Applications that are not properly routed will not be considered. Qualified women and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Job purpose:
To teach, examine and assess learners’ progress on an on-going basis in order to ensure functional literacy, numeracy, and basic communication skills.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Grade III teaching Certificate or the equivalent from a recognized Institution
• Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports

Responsibilities

i. To prepare the schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the approved curriculum on termly and weekly basis.
ii. To conduct lessons and remedial work according to the set timetable.
iii. To participate in setting, administering and marking internal and external examinations.
iv. To carry out continuous assessment and evaluation of pupils performance.
v. To prepare and select appropriate learning aids/materials for classroom teaching.
vi. To keep and maintain class records /inventory (Registers, records of work , progress reports and equipment)
vii. To guide and counsel pupils.
viii. To participate in class meetings.
ix. To serve as classroom teacher.
x. To participate in co - curricula activities and community activities.
xi. To conduct any other duties assigned that are related to the profession.

Job Requirements

Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree
Required relevant work experience: 12 months
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
