Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant posts currently available in Sheema District Local Government and Sheema Municipal Council. Application forms (PS Form 3) can be obtained from the Public Service Commission, Kampala and District Service Commissions countrywide and all Local Government Headquarters. The application forms should be submitted in triplicate to the Secretary District Service Commission, Sheema District P.O. Box 160, Kabwohe not later than April 7th 2020. Hand written applications are also acceptable. Applicants should attach Certified photocopies of their academic transcripts, certificates and professional papers, plus three (3 copies of recent identical passport size photographs). Serving officers should route their applications through their Responsible officers who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delays. Only short-listed applicants shall be contacted. Job purpose:
To teach, examine and assess learners’ progress on an on-going basis in order to ensure functional literacy, numeracy, and basic communication skills.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Grade III teaching Certificate or the equivalent from a recognized Institution
• Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports

Responsibilities

i. To prepare the schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the approved curriculum on termly and weekly basis.
ii. To conduct lessons and remedial work according to the set timetable.
iii. To participate in setting, administering and marking internal and external examinations.
iv. To carry out continuous assessment and evaluation of pupils performance.
v. To prepare and select appropriate learning aids/materials for classroom teaching.
vi. To keep and maintain class records /inventory (Registers, records of work , progress reports and equipment)
vii. To guide and counsel pupils.
viii. To participate in class meetings.
ix. To serve as classroom teacher.
x. To participate in co - curricula activities and community activities.
xi. To conduct any other duties assigned that are related to the profession.

Job Requirements

Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree
Required relevant work experience: 12 months
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
