M-KOPA Solar, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, is the global leader of "pay-as-you-go" energy for off-grid customers. The company was founded in 2011 by former executives behind M-PESA (the world's leading mobile payment platform) on the belief that mobile technology could revolutionize energy services in emerging markets the same way it has already revolutionized the delivery of communications and financial services.
We are currently seeking a Field Sales Manager will be accountable for the profitable achievement of sales objectives associated with the assigned market, segment, and sales team managed. The FSM manages all aspects of running an efficient sales team, including hiring, supervising, coaching, controlling, and motivating their DSRs

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes coaching, mentoring and performance management for the team
  • Coordinates the involvement of Customer Care, Filed Technicians / Installers and sales leadership
  • Proactively inspects and supervises sales activity and effort among DSRs ensuring that the quality and quantity of sales effort meets company expectations.
  • Recruits, hires, and develops DSRs in line with sourcing and onboarding / contract policy
  • Gathers ground-level market intelligence, competitive information and seasonal opportunities for the attention of sales and marketing leadership and develops appropriate plans
  • Ensures availability of stock and marketing collateral to deliver on sales quota
  • Positively impacts the performance of individual sales team members by implementing and managing control and team improvement routines, including training programs, productivity initiatives, account and territory planning methodologies
  • Holds daily and weekly meetings with DSRs while managing performance of (assigned) service centre

Accountability and Performance
  • Meets assigned team quotas for sales, revenue, DSR productivity metrics and DSR retention / churn, metrics
  • Accountable for the thorough implementation of all customer related initiatives across the team
  • Responsible for sizing the territory or market opportunity, Sales potential, segments and geographies for execution
  • Responsible for the development and execution of the territory sales plan in line with overall sales objectives
  • Implements effective coaching and development of the DSRs ensuring up to date information on products, services, pricing
  • Ensures availability of all selling aids and tools for the DSR force
Organization
  • Reports to the Regional Manager | Leads and supervises DSRs
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years Sales management experience (TSO or Supervisor Level) across Solar, PayTV, consumer loans
  • First degree or its equivalent (4 years of higher institution)

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 5 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
