Job Summary

The Head, Financial Management is responsible for ensuring timely availability of accurate and reliable financial information to all users, and assist the Bank to maintain strong internal financial controls and for managing the Bank’s loan portfolio and administration, contract management system, accounting and budgeting functions, and for maintaining a reliable accounting system.

  1. The position holder is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining sound accounting and budgeting systems and procedures;
  2. Ensuring that accounting functions are carried out in accordance with the Bank’s Charter and with international financial reporting standards  and in conformity with the Bank’s financial policies and procedures;
  3. Preparing financial projections to support the Bank’s corporate plans;
  4. Preparing annual capital, income and expenditure budgets for the Bank;
  5. Ensuring timely preparation and submission of annual reports, financial statements, monthly management reports and quarterly Board papers; maintaining accurate accounting records;
  6. Ensuring timely reconciliation of bank accounts and  analysis of general ledger balances;
  7. Formulating appropriate policies and procedures to enhance the internal control environment;
  8. Coordinating the work of the Bank’s internal and external auditors, as well as rating agencies;
  9. Formulating contract management and documentation system, ensuring timely loan disbursements and administrative payments and supervision of subordinate staff.
