Job Summary

At the click of a button, SafeBoda provides a safe, more convenient, mobile-first transportation platform for Africa’s booming young population. On the high-frequency use of our transportation service, SafeBoda is providing value to consumers, our drivers and passengers, with additional financial services, payments and other on-demand services to keep Africa moving forward. Currently based in Nairobi, Barcelona and Kampala, we are a venture funded company that is already having huge impact on millions of people in East Africa.
SafeBoda is looking for a Head of Growth. The ideal candidate is an experienced data-driven business person with strong product, growth marketing and business strategy experience. This means having strong data analytics skills, structured hypothesis driven problem solving skills and an experimental, start-up mentality. You will work closely with the senior management of the company and will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead Growth at SafeBoda and build a team to drive this work.
  2. Work with Product Managers, Ops, Marketing, Data Analytics, and Developers to scope, build, test new initiatives to increase growth of our core business.
  3. Own key KPIs related to our funnel, focusing on acquisition, conversion and retention.
  4. With data, lead our funnel optimization, growth analytics and product experimentation - this might mean looking at funnel conversion rates and user experience by exploring transaction data, customer activity within our app and customer qualitative research.
  5. Proactively identify opportunities to grow SafeBoda’s rides, via both online and offline opportunities using insights and evidence from experiments you have devised.
  6. Drive the prioritization, strategy, and focus on solutions to solve user problems and communicate this with the entire C-level.
You have:
  1.  +5 years of professional experience including investment banking, finance, private equity, consulting, tech or a start-up.
  2. Proven business strategy and consulting experience - you have the ability to navigate ambiguity, juggle multiple tasks, think independently and problem solve in a structured manner.
  3. Data analytics expertise with a passion for quantitative analysis. Knowledge of software packages for data analysis is a plus.
  4. Passion and interest for tech products - experience in product launching, testing and related analysis is a huge plus.
  5. Proven ability to work well across different teams and get things done.
  6. Knowledge of the latest digital marketing and other acquisition tools for growth hacking is a plus
  7. Strong academic performance with at a minimum a completed Bachelor/Undergraduate degree with excellent grades.
