The HMC is our face to the world, and will take leadership in the management of Chipper’s marketing, brand and communications programs in order to ensure that Chipper’s brand equity and market share grows. The HMC will provide coordination efforts for event campaign logistics, digital support, promotional items, and special projects, and act as primary escalation resource for the rest of the Chipper team.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director, the job holder is responsible for:

  • Developing, planning and ensuring implementation of the marketing and communication strategy for Chipper Cash to increase brand equity and achieve a substantial return on investment whilst ensuring brand visibility;
  • Assuming overall responsibility of developing the annual marketing plan for strategic market planning, market research programmes and marketing and communications budget.
  • Positioning the organization within the industry and within its current and desired customer segments, creating a receptive market for demand creation, growth and strengthening of the brand to achieve revenue targets;
  • Executing effective brand marketing campaigns/promotions that increase overall brand awareness, recognition, affinity and equity while building demand for Chipper’s products and services;
  • Overseeing the production of all marketing and promotional material including advertisements, e-newsletters, websites, publications, and other printed and electronic material;
  • Spearheading Chipper’s digital agenda through building and managing of the company’s social media profiles and presence including Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Twitter, LinkedIn and other relevant channels;
  • Creating systems and channels to undertake periodic marketing research, gather market intelligence, harness customer feedback and insights to support business units across Chipper and make informed strategic decisions;
  • Evaluating impact and success measures of marketing campaigns across all channels;
  • Preparing marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales data;
  • Keeping abreast of regional trends and issues impacting Chipper and advise on communication initiatives required;
  • Identifying
    suitable Community Managers across each country of operation, qualifying and managing them
  • Establishing systems to attract, develop, engage, and retain talented individuals and create an environment where they can realize their full potential and contribute to the attainment of functional and organizational goals.

What we are looking for in you
  • Bachelor’s degree Marketing or related field from a recognized University;
  • Membership to the Marketing Society of Kenya or other relevant body;
  • Professional qualification in Chartered Institute of Marketing Program (CIM);
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in marketing and communication, three (3) of which should be at Managerial capacity;
  • Demonstrable experience in digital marketing;
  • Must possess coaching and mentorship skills to support professional development goals of juniors under them;
  • Role holder must have incredible work ethic understanding that flexibility and drive underlies the success of a startup.
