Job Summary

The Officers will assist the Project Coordinator in the implementation of the Project along the Value Chain.

  1. Strengthen the capacity of farmer based organizations (FBOs) in organizational management and leadership;
  2. Guide development of viable commodity business plans and work plans among FOs
  3. Strengthen the savings and loan schemes (VSLAs) among F0s and monitor their performance
  4. Prepare training materials, modules with translation in local language on Good Agricultural practices including but not limited to: (i) Agronomy, ii) Post-Harvest Handling, m) Public-Private Partnerships and Market Access
  5. Train farmer groups in agronomy, postharvest handling and agribusiness/farming as a business
  6. Ensure balanced and gender-responsive participation of stake holder in all activities
  7. Lead farmers, extension agents in the project area by organizing field demonstrations and practical sessions to gain practical skills
