Job Summary

The Laboratory field officer will provide technical support to the laboratory staff in the various supported health facilities in Masaka region.
Only qualified applicants should submit their application letter, valid academic documents and detailed resume (C.V) with three recognizable referees


Responsibilities

  1. Building capacity to provide Quality HIV testing services in facilities and communities
  2. Building capacity to provide laboratory tests (CD Cell Counts, Chemistry Tests, Hematology Tests, Viral Load and DNA PCR Tests) required for diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of HIV related Illnesses for adults (including pregnant women)
  3. Building capacity to provide laboratory tests (TB smear microscopy using florescent microscopy and
  4. TB DST) required for diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of TB
  5. Adapting to National standards and Maturation System based on the principles the Lab Quality
  6. Management System (Organization, infrastructure, equipment, sample collection management, process control (QA/QC), documentation, infection control and safety, assessment of the labs customer care, process improvement and information management) and link the standards to the Laboratory strengthening Program
  7. Developing a QA/QA system ( internal quality control system and external quality control system and standard operating procedures and manuals) and ensuring their use in selected facilities
  8. Establishing and monitoring of an Equipment Management and Maintenance Systems in target Laboratories
  9. Establishing and monitoring a Supply Chain Management System and ensure timely ordering of buffer stocks for target labs
  10. Any other assigned duties in line with your role
