Lead Mechatronics Engineer (Operations)

Job Summary

This role provides Engineering support to ensure effective equipment and component up-time and designs that are safe and fit for purpose.


Responsibilities

  • Design and oversight of processes for assembly and testing of KOKO’s proprietary automated fuel dispensers (KOKOpoints) before they are released for deployment.
  • Design and manage processes to ensure Quality Assurance of received constituent parts for the KOKOpoints has been met (inbound QA)
  • Oversight of the assembly and testing of assemblies and sub-assemblies comprising the KOKOpoint from an Engineering quality perspective
  • Professional guidance of all Systems Engineers and Technicians involved in the assembly and testing process
  • Design and oversight of Engineering maintenance operations carried out on deployed KOKOpoints. Any issues arising need to be tracked, route cause analysis performed and managed through to resolution by our Field Maintenance teams.
  • Owning the database of support tickets, ensuring that all information collected has been properly understood to ensure correct action is taken in the field
  • Managing the follow up of all issues to confirm root cause
  • Improving the maintenance processes based on issues that arise
  • Managing the quality of maintenance and repair work according to the required standards
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of the maintenance processes and identifying opportunities to reduce maintenance costs
  • Liaising with KOKO’s Product and Engineering teams to ensure learnings from field operations are converted into improvements in KOKO’s products (software, systems and hardware).
  • Owning the database of product bugs, ensuring that all information collected has been properly understood concerning the conditions under which the problem occurs, frequency of occurrence and impact caused
  • Collaborating with the Product and Engineering teams to improve on the field service and maintenance tool-kits
Qualifications and Experience Required
  1. Degree in Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering
  2. Proven track record in an operations related engineering role, with team leadership experience of at least 5 years
  3. Excellent command of tools used in assembly and maintenance activities for mechatronic systems
  4. Highly skilled in Electronics and Mechanical CAD4
  5. Professional Engineer registered with a recognized institution is an added advantage
  6. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001/ OHSAS 18001 Awareness or Lead Auditor certification
Key Competencies
  1. You have strong theoretical understanding complemented by significant practical experience of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering activities
  2. You are skilled in the correct use of tools for troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues.
  3. You are skilled in performing Root Cause Analysis on electrical, and mechanical issues, and guide engineers and technicians in this area
  4. You are diligent, detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize large numbers of issues
  5. You are experienced in leading and managing teams
  6. You are an excellent communicator, particularly regarding technical matters and can train others in accurate technical communication skills
  7. You have a strong health, safety security, environment and quality assurance mindset
