The American Refugee Committee (ARC) works with its partners and constituents to provide opportunities and expertise to refugees, disabled people and host communities- to better survive conflicts and crisis and to rebuild lives of dignity, health, security and self-sufficiency. ARC has been operational in Uganda since 1994 and today has a strong and committed team of over 130 regular and full time national staff and partners.
The overall goal of the Uganda program is to improve the well-being and self-reliance of the displaced refugee populations by ensuring the provision of basic services (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Community Services; SGBV protection; Child protection; Mental Health & Psychological support), currently in six refugee settlements Nakivale, Oruchinga, Kyaka II, Kyangwali, Bidi Bidi and Palabek in Uganda.
