Responsible for ensuring that the machinery and facilities used in production run to their maximum efficiency and output. This involves preventative maintenance, and managing breakdowns of mechanical, and electrical equipment.
Responsible also for directing and overseeing all daily maintenance activities including delegation of tasks, tracking machine performance, and directing the processes of any necessary repairs, people management and reporting.

a. Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule and ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out.
b. Ensure planned OEE and machine uptime
c. Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken
d. Audit and ensure compliance of the engineering data systems
e. Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, and ensuring the achievement of all production targetsf. Manage the process of the introduction of new machinery, plant and equipment from drawing up the specification, to managing suppliers to ensuring full installation in collaboration with all relevant partiesg. Spearhead the spare parts inventory management. i.e. Critical and other spare parts sourcing and stocks maintenance
h. Manage the team to ensure machine availability by reactively managing dysfunctional machinery within the shifts.i. Provide technical expertise to the team
j. Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization
k. Management of maintenance budget
l. Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the departmentm. Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and visitorsn. Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements
