As part of strengthening our operations, we are looking for smart, creative and ambitious individual to join our ICT team in this capacity;
The Role
Reporting to the Infrastructure and Service manager, the Network and Communications Administrator will be responsible for the management and administration of the local area network (LAN), Wide area Network (WAN), Virtual Private network (VPN), Wireless LAN (WLAN), Internet connectivity, IP telephony, Information and Network security, Audio visual equipment, Access Control and CCTV security systems. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing projects that are network related.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  1. Atleast 3 years’ experience in a busy IT environment
  2. Experience in Windows Domain controller, Linux Operating systems will be an added advantage.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
  1. Degree in IT-related field from a recognized university
  2. Certifications in CCNA (Switching and Routing), CCNP (switching and routing), Avaya Aura communication manager
  3. Administration or CCNA Voice
  4. Knowledge and certifications in IT security will be an added advantage
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills
  7. Strong self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
  8. Good interpersonal skills and work ethics


Responsibilities

  1.  To manage and maintain service availability of LAN, WAN, WLAN VPN, IP telephony, Internet connectivity, Audio Visual equipment, Access Control and CCTV systems as per the stipulated SLA
  2. Manage and Maintain information and Network security as per the recommended standards
  3.  Carryout network backup and failover redundancy tests regularly as perthe policy
  4. Perform day-to-day maintenance troubleshooting and monitoring ofthe network infrastructure
  5. Work with service desk to ensure resolution of 2nd level and 3rd Level tickets are resolved within the stipulated SLA
  6. Ensuring preventive maintenance of active equipmentis carried out as perthe policy
  7. Facilitate and coordinate user awareness training programs
  8. Manage and coordinate projects forthe network infrastructure
  9. To coordinate, manage and liaise with vendors to ensure that service level agreements are achieved
  10. Propose annual Infrastructure budgets and resources growth plans
  11. Prepare appropriate reports to help in operations and decision-making
  12. Advises the business on process improvements, new technologies, innovations and products
