Requirements

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; or Construction Management; or Architecture from a recognized University/Institution plus a Masters Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University /Institution. Applicants should have specialized training in Project Planning and Implementation Applicants must be registered with the relevant professional body. Possession of a Post Graduate qualification in the relevant course will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of 7 years relevant working experience in a construction reputable organization, three (3) of which must have been gained at Principal or Middle management level in KCCA.

·           Planning and supervising construction of the Authority’s buildings in the City as per the architectural plans and structural designs;

·           Developing and monitoring implementation of routine maintenance program in line with the Authority’s standards;

·           Providing technical guidance to the Authority and the general public on matters pertaining to building construction and maintenance as per the Directorate’s objectives;

·           Monitoring the annual building maintenance budget in order to ensure that it is appropriately allocated in line with the Departmental objectives;

·           Monitoring all buildings and services so as to ensure that they conform to health and safety standards;

·           Developing and maintaining a system for ensuring safety and security of the street lights and the public;

·           Developing specifications for materials required for maintenance programs and minor works and guiding the Procurement Department on competent firms to do maintenance works to the required standards and within the required time;

·           Managing performance and developing of staff under direct supervision in line with identified needs and Human Resource Management policy;

·           Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
