Job Summary
i. Be a Kenyan Citizen.
ii. Must be a holder of basic Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB)
iii. Must have obtained a postgraduate Degree (MMED) in Obstetric and Gynecology from a recognized University
iv. Have other qualifications which, in the opinion of the Board, are appropriate to the duties of his/her Office.
v. Be registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
vi. Be retained in the current retention register for Medical Practitioners.
vii. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
viii. Demonstrate a good understanding of the County Government's Mandate, Health Policies, Vision, Mission as well as Vision 2030.
ix. Demonstrate understanding of the commitment to the National Values and Principles of the Public Service Governance as espoused in the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Article 10 and 232.
x. Have capacity to understand multitasks within strict timelines.
xi. Be proficient in Computer Skills.
xii. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
b) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e) Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

Responsibilities
i. The specific duties will be to oversee service delivery in the following areas, among others:
ii. Diagnose and/or treat cases in area if Expertise.
iii. Provide expert opinions in case management.
iv. Conduct Major Teaching ward rounds at least twice a week.
v. Conduct an Obstetric high-risk clinic at least once weekly and a Gynecologic clinic once weekly.
vi. Have at least one theatre day for cold cases.
vii. Advise on specialized medical problems and medical administrative problems.
viii. Teach within the confines of the specialty.
ix. Manage and control a special unit when necessary.
