Who we are

Motorcycle taxis are immensely popular and serve as the lifeblood of many cities in Africa, but they are extremely unsafe and disorganized. SafeBoda is a Ugandan-based startup on a mission to make motorcycle taxis (bodas) more safe, affordable, and convenient across Sub-Saharan Africa—while providing a more meaningful and lucrative career for drivers. SafeBoda is growing fast with our mobile app on Android and iOS in terms of completed rides in Kampala, Uganda.

SafeBoda is looking for an Office & Facilities Manager. SafeBoda HQ and the Training Centre are highly important for the company and key elements that keep SafeBoda’s company culture strong. The goal of the Office & Facilities MAnager is to ensure all staff, drivers and other visitors to the facilities have a great experience every day.


  1. Ensuring the SafeBoda HQ is professionally run giving an exceptional experience to staff, drivers, and visitors to the HQ in Kisementi.
  2. Proactively manage the entire space on a number of issues. Think through the experience and seek to improve it. Develop, analyze, model and present alternative solutions to space needs
  3. Maintain and also upgrade and design new features for the office in terms of seating, reception area, food and drinks service, and other elements of office life.
  4. Potentially plan and coordinate external facing meetings, which may include cross functional teams and external stakeholders.
  5. May attend staff meetings, take notes and follow-up on outstanding agenda items
  6. Identify issues for escalation and communicate confidently with members of staff on issues
  7. Partner with  IT, Finance, Security, Reception and Kitchen teams to resolve any logistical issues and assist in every way possible to ensure tasks are completed
  8. Team expert and go to person for general requests and questions
  1. Have 4+ years of experience in hospitality, management or service-based industry
  2. Proactivity, strong communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills.
  3. Experience in top-class hospitality and service organizations is a plus.
  4. Have a keen eye for interior design and the design of spaces to maximize comfort, professionalism.
  5. You care about people and the experiences they have.
  6. Ability to solve complex problems and manage crises calmly.
  7. Exhibit the ability to navigate ambiguity, juggle multiple tasks, think independently and problem solve like a boss.
  8. At a minimum strong undergraduate degree with demonstrated strong academic performance.
  9. Advanced in Microsoft Office skills with a strong ability to learn technology quickly.
  10. Excitement for SafeBoda and what we are trying to achieve in sustainable urban transportation in East Africa.
