Job Summary

Maintain the electronic cargo tracking devices and provide technical support to the Central Tracking and Mobile Enforcement Teams so as to enable effective functioning of the Electronic Cargo Tracking System

Responsibilities

  1. Receive the electronic devices (e.g. eseals) from different stations and record in the registry books and Stock management database.
  2. Conduct quality checks on the electronic devices to establish their functional status.
  3. Conduct servicing and repairs on the electronic devices that have mechanical issues.
  4. Analyze the e-seal usage and advice for extrapolation where devices are bound to fail.
  5. Ensure all e-seals that have been damaged are returned back to the Vendor for replacement.
  6. Coordinate the delivery of electronic devices across different stations to support cargo tracking.
  7. Maintain a record of all electronic devices that come in to the organization from the vendor.
  8. Record and report on the distribution of all electronic devices received, dispatched, damaged, under repair, beyond repair and those returned to the vendor.
  9. Conduct a weekly stock take on all e-seals in operation and compile a report for further management.
  10. Conduct device reconciliation and provide guidance to different enforcement officers in recovering and retrieving missing e-seals.
  11. Compile device usage reports and submit to the line In charge/supervisor for further management.
  12. Receive different parts of the electronic devices from the vendor and assemble parts into the fully functional e-seal.
  13. Record all factory damaged parts of the devices and develop an accountability report for all devices received and their quality status Register the e-seals onto the ECTS system for activation.
  14. Conduct tests and compile a device commission report that is submitted to the line supervisor
  15. Trouble shoot ECTS user problems and provide technical support to the field Customs teams on usage of the Electronic Cargo Tracking System in line with Customs Business processes.
  16. Identify ECTS usage gaps and liaise with the system vendor / developer to close the gaps in line with Customs Business
  17. Liaise with the IT software Engineering team to conduct software quality assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the system’s functionality
  18. Monitor ECTS device functionality and usage and submit monthly Device usage & seals management report clearly indicating the percentage of seals in active operations and usage rate per device
  19. Identify ECTS user violations and design capacity building modules to enhance the ECTS user capabilities of users
  20. Liaise with IT and Customs Systems teams to effect and monitors the intersystem integrations e.g. RECTS/Asyworld integration.

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 2 years
Required skills: Systems design; Cargo inspection; Customs clearance; Electronics; Troubleshooting
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
