Job Summary

Our client, a State Corporation in the financial regulatory sector wishes to recruit 2 Officers (IT Help Desk) in the ICT Department.
Applicants are required to immediately initiate self-clearance (Comply with Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya) from: -

  1. Kenya Revenue Authority
  2. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
  3. Department of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
  4. Higher Education Loans Board
  5. A Credit Reference Bureau

  1. Providing help-desk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction as escalate problem (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
  2. Monitoring and responding quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT help-desk.
  3. Monitoring Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority. Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation.
  4. Utilizing and maintaining the helpdesk tracking software.
  5. Documenting all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
  6. Recording, tracking, and documenting the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  7. Assisting with setting up new users accounts and profiles and dealing with password problems.
  8. Ensuring each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment.
  9. Installing of anti-virus software.
  10. Applying diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
  11. Testing fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
  12. Performing post-resolution follow-ups to help requests.
  13. Evaluating documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
  14. Developing help sheets and frequently asked questions lists for end users.
  15. Performing hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  16. Installing, testing and configuring new workstations, peripheral equipment and software.
  17. Maintaining inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses.
  18. Managing PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software. Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory.
  19. Providing updates, status, and completion information to management.
  20. Accessing software updates, drivers, knowledge bases and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.
  21. Performing timely software upgrades as required.
  22. Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
