Job Application Procedure
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following position that exits in the service of Amuru District Local Government.
Application Forms [PSO Form 3 Revised 2003) and ESC Form 3 [Revised 1998] for officers in the Education Department are obtainable from the following offices, Public Service Commission, District Service Commissions countrywide.
Filled Forms in triplicate together with three recent passport size photographs of those who meet the stipulated requirements below must reach the office of the Secretary District Service Commission P. 0 Box1074, Gulu NOT later than four {4} weeks from the date of this advertisement. Sewing Officers must route their applications through their Head of Department. The application must bear the post title applied for as well as the Reference Number.
Only photocopies of the Academic certificates and NOT originals must be attached to the application.

Job Purpose
To carry out the overall administration and management of a Parish Unit in the Local Government.
Qualifications
• “A” Level Certificate from a recognized Institution.
• Certificate in either Public Administration and Management or Social Work and Social Administration
• Post basic training lasting not less than two (2) years in areas of education, environment, and public administration will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and compiling reports on parish operations for the attention of the Sub-County Chief;
  • Collecting and accounting for Local revenue in the Parish;
  • Preparing work plans and budgets for the operations of the Parish;
  • Enforcing the implementation of National and Local Government policies, programs and Council bye-laws in the Parish;
  • Undertaking the mobilization of the Parish Community for Government development programs and projects;
  • Providing technical support to the Parish Council on any matters relating to lower Local Government governance;
  • Undertaking duties of Secretariat to the Parish Council;
  • Managing and monitoring Local Government projects implemented in the Parish;
  • Coordinating the maintenance of law and order in a parish;

Job Requirements

Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree
Required relevant work experience: 18 months
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
