Job Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts existing in Agago District Local Government. Applications should be submitted in triplicate (Original in own handwriting) on Public Service Commission (PSC Form 3) Revised (2008) to the Secretary Agago District Service Commission P.O. Box 1 Agago to be received no later than 16th April 2020 at 05.00 p.m. Applicants should attach to each of the 3 application forms 3 sets of certified photocopies of their academic documents and 3 of their recent passport size photographs. Applications should bear the Title and Reference Number of the post applied for.
Applicants who are serving Officers should route their applications through their Responsible Officers who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delays. They should also attach copies of letter(s) of appointments, confirmation, and promotion if anywhere applicable

Responsibilities

  • Initiating, developing and implementing Human Resource policies, regulations and practices in the Local Governments;
  • Preparing plans and budgets for the Human Resource Sub-sector;
  • Preparing submissions for the appointment, confirmation, discipline, transfer of staff in the District Local Government;
  • Managing and maintaining the payroll and staffing control system in the District Local government;
  • Supervising the update and safe custody of human resource and other relevant records in the District Local Government;
  • Advising and counseling staff on career development;
  • Providing technical support to departments on the interpretation of Public Service Standing orders, Human Resource Policy, staff regulations and other relevant human resource issues;
  • Processing submissions for terminal benefits of staff and submitting to the relevant authorities for the necessary action;
  • Appraising performance of staff in the Human Resource Sub-sector.

Job Requirements

Required education: Post-graduate education
Required relevant work experience: 7 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
