Job Summary

The Procurement Officer will oversee the end to end supply chain process for pharmaceutical requirements encompassing safety, sourcing, product selection, demand planning, quality, inventory, warehousing and transport. Procurement Officer responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers. The Procurement Officer’s duty is to discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses, so that the company can invest in growth and people. The holder of this position will report to the Head of Finance Administration.

Key qualifications

  1. BSc degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
  2. Minimum 5 years working experience as a procurement manager, procurement officer or head of procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical field
  3. Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
  4. Talent in negotiations and networking
  5. Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
  6. Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  7. Experience in collecting and analysing data
  8. Familiarity with contract drafting and preparation
  9. Strong leadership capabilities


Responsibilities

  1. Manage end to end supply chain process for pharmaceutical products
  2. Serve as subject matter expert for drug procurement, medical devices and equipment and service providers related to pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
  3. Support in the development of processes to ensure compliance related to key supply chain requirements such as quality control, cold chain storage and distribution
  4. Demonstrate expertise in contract negotiations and cost management
  5. Lead strategic supplier relationship management to continually identify process improvements and cost reduction opportunities
  6. Well versed in analysis of spend data and cost models for continuous improvement
  7. Maintain relationships with various business functions across the organization including the legal departments
  8. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand and track inventory levels
  9. Lead supplier selection and pre-qualification process
  10. Conduct Quality Control and pharmacovigilance activities, when deemed necessary or as an element of routine supplier management.
