ziziAfrique

Non-profit, social workCompany size: 20-50 people

ziziAfrique is an organization responsible for setting up and establishment of the successful and innovative Uwezo largescale household based study, which has contributed to policy shifts, from overly concentration on learning inputs to outcomes, in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Zizi proposes to demonstrate a scalable approach around improving the learning outcomes of children in literacy and numeracy through a tried and tested approach. The approach uses three core pedagogical principles : (a) Learning will be level wise; not grade wise; (b) Multiple activities will be used as this allows children to learn better and faster; (c) Learning will happen via a mix of big groups, small groups and individualised learning allowing principles of peer and self-directed learning to occur.
