Job Summary
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in management, communications, political science, international relations, public relations/affairs, marketing, journalism or any other related field.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Working with a range of international donors, particularly US Government
- Ensuring full compliance to USG rules and regulations
- Coordinating programs and budgets including MEL, sub-awards and contracts
- Working with teams from diverse backgrounds across multiple locations and countries to achieve and sustain excellence
- Working with multiple sectors, achieving financial and contractual results.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Plan and coordinate, in conjunction with the Project Manager, operations and administration of IWPR’s programming in Kenya
- Coordinate IWPR specific program/s activity in Kenya under the guidance of the UK-based Program Manager; ensure effective communication with IWPR representatives, local partners and partners in other countries
- Representing IWPR, liaise with and report to local donor representatives on activities and progress as required to ensure smooth program implementation
- Oversee small grants given to programs’ beneficiaries, including tracking progress, following up with individuals, handling financial backup documentation, and administering small monies
- Complete all narrative and financial reports and documentation required by the programs, working with the Program Manager to ensure that all funds are used and reported properly
- Apply IWPR monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) processes to measure and report on the program/s progress achieved by IWPR’s beneficiaries
- Support development and fundraising for new programs in Kenya and the region
- Assist with program media outputs, including editing work, as required
- Work closely with the Program Manager to ensure clarity around long-term programming, operational, and funding requirements in-country
- Support the Program Manager in development of funding proposals for IWPR’s work in the region, including desk reviews and editing proposals
- Represent IWPR in external meetings, as required
- Ensure a work environment that is non-discriminatory and promotes open dialogue on gender-related and culturally sensitive issues
- Ensure that IWPR policies and procedures are well implemented and practised in-country where relevant, as well as ensure all donor/governmental regulations are strictly adhered to
- Undertake other duties and assignments as may be assigned from time to time.
