Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced construction project manager. You need to have a strong background as quantity surveyor, site manager and handling multiple projects at once. You must be meticulous, organised and keen on details. This position will require a self motivated jack/jill of all trades and will work across multiple parts of the business. Whether its building a bill of materials and accounting spreadsheet, or rolling up your sleeves and laying some bricks, you’re comfortable doing both.

Successful candidates will have all or most of these qualifications:
  • Show us why they are suited for this position, rather than just tell us
  • A degree or higher in project management, construction management, and/or business related studies
  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Has worked as a project manager for a reputable firm for more than 2 years
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating their work
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili
  • Having a PRINCE2 certificate will be an added advantage
  • Organisational, analytical and well developed interpersonal skills

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing and closing a lead in the shortest time possible
  • Integration Management: developing and managing the direction of the project.
  • Scope Management: This includes planning, defining and managing the scope of the project.
  • Planning and Defining Scope with clients
  • Technical Specifications which may include sketches and other drawings
  • Activity Planning and Sequencing
  • Resource Planning
  • Documentation
  • Time and Cost Management - This covers developing a schedule, allocating resources and managing funds for the project.
  • Building Bill of Quantities in accordance to IQSK
  • Communicating with the relevant stakeholders in order to adapt the project vision

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 2 years
Required skills: Construction management; Project management; Computer aided design (CAD); Architectural planning and design; Structural engineering; Interior design; Construction safety; Project preparation and planning; Project implementation
Required languages: English (Spoken: native | Written: native)
