Quality Assurance Assistant

If you are ready for a challenging and influential position, then you may be the person we are looking for.You will ensure that materials received in the factory and final products produced meet/exceed the set company and statutory requirements by ensure full analysis of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products as well as helping in system sustenance.

1.    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• A minimum of diploma/ bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Analytical chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
• Knowledge on operation of analytical instruments
  
• A minimum of one year experience in an analytical laboratory. Knowledge on Essential oils and Vegetable oils is an added advantage.
• Computer Literate
  
• Knowledge on QMS-Training on ISO 9001:2015, FSSC is an added advantage
  
• Good communication and coordination skills
  
• A fine attention to detail
  
• Effective problem-solving skills
  
• An ability to work well as part of a team and when working alone
  
• Self-motivated
  

 2.    KEY RESULT AREAS

• Timely and accurate sampling and physical and chemical analysis of all raw materials before acceptance and maintaining records.
• Ensuring proper segregation of rejected materials to prevent unintended mix-ups.
• Assist the QAM in preparation and submission of samples to clients or to the outsourced laboratories for analysis and maintaining records.
• Inspection of incoming packaging materials against the laid down specifications.
• Carrying out in process checks and analysis of in process samples.
  
• Assist in QMS sustenance through attending meetings (if necessary), carrying out internal audits, CCP monitoring and closure of audit citations.
• Inspection of incoming vehicles and finished products vehicles before and after loading.
• Pest control.
  
• Analysis of finished products to avail data for use in certifying them as safe and acceptable as per the laid down specifications.
• Participate in research and development.
  
• Ensure lab equipment are well maintained and calibrated.
  
• Receive samples from suppliers and clients and analyze them.
  
• Assist in the running of the GCMS.
  
• Carry out any other duties that maybe assigned by management.
  

3.    COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

• Production Team - Analysis results, raw material quality, in-process product, finished product and packaging material quality
• Maintenance - Equipment repairs and cleaning
  
• Compliance department - Equipment calibration and audit reports
  
• Accounts - Any rejected raw material and packaging materials
