Job application procedure
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the vacant posts that exist in Pallisa District Local Government. Applications must be submitted in triplicate on PSC Form No. 3 (Revised 2008) and addressed to The Secretary District Service Commission Pallisa, P.O Box 14 Pallisa, and to be received no later than 2nd December 2020. Application forms can be obtained from Secretaries to the District Service Commissions countrywide or Public Service Commission at Farmers House Kampala. Detailed information on these posts can be obtained from the Job Descriptions and person specifications guidelines for jobs in local Governments, 2011, and 2017 as well as other Public Service circular letters and guidelines relating to recruitments that are available in all districts and also on websites www.publicservice.go.ug or www.psc.go.ug. Applications should bear 3 recent passport size photographs, certified academic documents, a copy of a National Identity Card, and other relevant supporting documents with day time contact phone number. Serving officers should route their applications through their Heads of Department who must be informed of the closing date to avoid delay. Only successful candidates will be contacted and will be required to come along with their original certificates, National and institutional Identity cards for interviews. Falsification of documents is a crime and a candidate involved will be personally held liable for the consequences.
Job purpose:
To facilitate smooth flow and access to information through records Management for action anddecision making
Qualification:
Advanced Certificate in Education (‘A’ Level) with a Diploma in Library and Information Science (DLIS) or a diploma in Records and Information Management (DRIM) from a recognised institution


Responsibilities

i. Receiving, registering and classifying correspondences;
ii. Filing classified information;
iii. Routing correspondences to responsible officers for action;
iv. Auditing records and registers to ensure proper data bank; and
v. Scheduling disposal of unwanted records and information.

Job Requirements

Required education: Vocational school
Required relevant work experience: 18 months
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
