Job Summary

Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Science/ Records Management /Library science or its equivalent from a recognized NPSC;
  2. Higher diploma in Records Management/Information Science/ Library Science;
  3. Computer Literacy;
  4. Meet the requirements of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya;
  5. Four (4) years of service in a comparable position from a reputable organization.

  1. Applicants should attach a copy of National Identity Card or Passport, testimonials, or any other evidence of proven relevant expertise herein being sought;
  2. In addition to the qualifications set out in the Constitution and the Enabling Statutes, applications must further furnish clearance certificates from:- a) Director, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC); b) Commissioner General, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA); c) Chief Executive Officer, Higher Education Loans Board (HELB); d) Professional bodies (where applicable) to which the applicant belongs such as LSK, ICPS(K), ICPAK, AAK, IEK, etc.; e) Certificate of Good Conduct from DCI

  1. Accurately record, file and distribute all inward and outward correspondence to the relevant officers;
  2. Accurately store, arrange, index and classify records to for easy references and access of information;
  3. Assist in the development of filing systems and maintain both electronic and paper-based files in the commission;
  4. Set up, maintain, review and document of records systems;
  5. Assist in the preparation of reports on files for disposal;
  6. Assist staff with requests to locate and retrieve documents that had been archived;
  7. Repair torn files to ensure order and safeguard all commission documents;
  8. Record all mails and files received in the unit before submission to the relevant departments

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) is one of the independent commissions established under Chapter Fifteen of the Constitution 2010. The Commission is established under Article 246 of the Constitution. It took over, among other functions, the human resource management function of the Police Service, that previously was being handled by the Public Service Commission.
