The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE), a global network of organizations that propel entrepreneurship in emerging markets, is looking for a new Chapter Manager for our East Africa Chapter based in Nairobi, Kenya.
You excel at quickly understanding individual and organizational needs and interests, making sure that the right people are talking to each other. Given a flip chart, some post-it notes, and a room full of passionate people – you can skillfully develop and execute a plan that everyone is excited to be part of. You are an adept leader and your passion is cultivating talented teams. Your team is your family and you all succeed together as you juggle multiple interconnected projects with ease. You are a strategic thinker and can see opportunities and learning where others see barriers and challenges. You love the idea that your leadership and networking skills could contribute to a better livelihood for entrepreneurs throughout East Africa, all of Africa, and ultimately the world.Working closely with ANDE’s global and local staff, a local Steering Committee, donors and other stakeholders, develop and deliver on a work plan that supports the growth of the small and growing business (SGB) ecosystem in the region.
Maintain and solidify ANDE’s position as the go-to place for all things related to the sector, and become a recognized expert and thought leader in your own right.
Manage current stakeholders and donors and cultivate new leads, overseeing both fundraising and grant management for the chapter.
Lead collaborative design of new programs and manage their implementation, including approving budgets and setting priorities which dictate private and public fundraising goals.
Develop a deeper level of engagement with existing members, while also recruiting new members to the network.
Oversee the management of existing learning labs and other special projects of the chapter.
- Motivate, lead, set objectives, and manage performance of a small dynamic team.
