More information.....The position The Resource Development Officer [RDO] is a self-funded local position based in Nairobi/Mombasa with key responsibility under the guidance of the Director of External Affairs-Africa [DEA] in developing and promoting the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa's (AKA-Mombasa) fundraising efforts for Scholarship Funding including community building and awareness activities to the school and business network community at large.
- Fundraising for AKA-Mombasa as per agreed annual plan and target with:
(1) a focus on Parents, graduating class and alumni communities in Mombasa and particularly from where the student cohort population originates, and;
(2) SMEs & Corporates as identified together with the DEA Work with the community(ies) to support the AKA-Mombasa's mission through fundraising initiatives and activities. Engage with parents, alumni, students, and partners and share Financial Aid Student Story). Support in the development, communications and donor relationships at all levels as directed by the DEA Document details and update database of well-established relationship built of donors [Parents, graduating class, alumni and like-minded individuals together with pertinent donor details.
- Assist the DEA with maintaining and building on partner relationships resulting in contribution and participation in AKA Scholarship Programme Assist the DEA in expanding to Uganda to develop outreach and a network of FoAs from Parents and AKDN Develop an understanding of modus operandis on outreach activities; list of activities undertaken in past and outcome- what worked what did not; resource involvements & Results Identify a potential alumni successor towards the end of the two-year contract, a person with similar background and will ensure proper orientation and transition.
