The three co-founders of BBOXX met at Imperial College London while studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering. All three had traveled in the developing world and recognized the challenge posed to community and business development by the unreliable electrical supply. They saw potential in the lack of existing infrastructure to create a sustainable, environmentally responsible solution to the problem. In response, the trio founded a successful student charity, which exposed the potential for off-grid solar solutions in the developing world. BBOXX is the resulting for-profit venture and started in March 2010.

By satisfying the genuine energy needs of individuals and families from home lighting to TV watching, BBOXX helps the developing world to climb the Energy Ladder. With BBOXX products, customers have the ability to have a western energy experience off-the-grid and in rural areas. Through a vast network of shops and outlets, BBOXX focuses on giving access to the fundamental need of access to electricity combined with superior customer service. Within this network, we provide hundreds of jobs to local employees and create a retail market unlike anything seen in the developing world. Our strategic aim is to expand rapidly to provide other vital utility services, such as cooking, internet access and water.

About the role
As a Retail Supervisor you will be driving the key metrics of a shop:Sales, Installation and Repossession. You will have the opportunity to build and manage a network of agents, technicians and one shop manager
Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain an incredible sales team
• Meet the sales objectives through careful planning and motivating your team
• Meet the technician target through a laser focus on efficiency
• Meet the operational standard we expect at the shop
Person specification
  • A degree in business-related field
  • Have prior experience in sales management, we are not looking for the “striker” of a football team but for the head coach
  • Be willing to live in rural areas, the role is set in rural areas, you will be located at a shop which are in secondary towns
  • Be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal communication, listening and phone skills

Responsibilities

Description of tasks
I. Responsible for new customer acquisition across a defined area
• Hiring agents who are very effective sellers and good representative of BBOXX
• Training agents to offer an incomparable customer service
• Managing the schedule of agents and motivating them to reach new heights
• Supporting and coaching agents in the field when needed (e.g. group presentation)
• Monitoring their performance against objectives and take necessary actions
• Organizing the agent network geographically
II. Responsible for technician’s performance
• Managing the schedule of technicians and motivating them to reach new heights
• Monitoring their performance against objectives and take necessary actions
III. Responsible to implement marketing strategy in coordination with Retail Area Manager
• Request for any marketing activities
• Understanding Market and competition
IV. Responsible for the operations at the shop
• Supervise the shop manager in its activities
• Report to the retail area manager about the shop results

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 3 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
