Job Summary

Deevabits Green Energy (DGE) is a social enterprise that empowers Village Solar Entrepreneurs (VSEs), mainly youth and women, to establish micro-enterprises distributing solar lamps to the rural customers on a Pay As You Go (PAYGo) basis. We are currently operating across five counties and are looking for a Sales Manager to lead the sales team in our efforts to scale across the country. Our sales team currently has 150 agents, living and working in the rural communities where our customers live; we are looking to expand to 4 new counties and 250+ agents by the end of 2020. You would work closely with the Founder / CEO to define the company’s sales team organizational structure and compensation strategy, as well as manage sales team operations and growth across our regions of operation which currently include Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Kajiado and Vihiga.

Skills and experience
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in sales
  • Experience managing a network of decentralized sales agents in either off-grid energy, financial services, mobile-money or other any other related industry
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a network of field offices and regional representatives, with support functions, in a comparable industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory and stock across multiple regions
  • Ability to build and manage relations at all levels within a fast-growing startup company
  • Fluency in spoken English and Kiswahili
Compensation for the role is structured to include base pay commensurate with experience, benefits and bonus.
