The Role
To provide leadership, general operations of a storeand excellent customer service. The team leader should ensure that the shop runs smoothly, cleanly and meets target budget and sales goals by ensuring that their staff give great customer service as well as monitoring the financial performance of the store. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role.Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and with prospects of coming back.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Diploma in Business Management or Fashion and design. Candidates with be an added advantage
• 3+ years of experience working in a retail environment, ideally in a supervisory role
• Strengths in leadership, management, team building, and problem solving
• Excellent interpersonal communication capabilities
• Customer service-oriented attitude
• Ability to stay organized and manage time effectively
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and oftentimes high-pressure environment
• Numerical and analytical knowledge to properly manage cash and financial records
• Proven competencies in effective communication and management


1. Leadership and Management:

• Maximizing profitability and setting/meeting sales targets, including motivating staff to do so
• Supervising and appraising staff members in your shop
• Plan and promote the daily schedule of employees in your shop
• Ensure that the staff members adhere to company policies and regulations including compliance with health and safety legislation
• Lead staff meetings to ensure that all sales attendants stay informed of their duties and the new trends in the market
• Handle staff conflicts, complaints, and problems before escalating the issues to the management
• Be a shining example of well behavior and high performance

2. Merchandising and stores management:
• Coordinate and ensure that the store is well stocked and ensuring proper working order
• Responsible for receiving merchandise, ensuring proper recording and of tracking the merchandise including overseeing inter-store transfers
• Responsible of displayingmerchandise in an appealing and fashionable manner
• Performing inventory control
• Managing cash, Mpesa and Debit/credit card transactions
• In charge of banking of the daily transactions and maintaining recordsfr reconciliation with the accounting office
• Maintain store cleanliness and order and overseeing maintenance and up-keep of the store. In charge of contacting the maintenance and other services such as repair services as needed.

3. Create and maintain budgets:
• Together with the leadership, assist in the development of budget plans and updating of the financial statements
• Maintaining statistical and financial records of their respective stores
• Overseeing pricing and stock control in their respective stores
• Order out of stock merchandise from the warehouse before the retail stock runs out.
• Helping to interpret reports and predicting future sales

4. Coordinate with and report to senior management of the company:
• Recommend for additional staffing during high peak seasons.
• Deal with reported suspicious activities like shoplifting and belligerent customers
• Liaising with head office to ensuring the products are delivered on time
• Pitching innovativeideas to senior management that increase market share and also improve the company

5. Providing exceptional customer service and sales
• Ensure high levels of customers’ satisfaction through excellent service
• Overseeing the handling of returns and refunds in consultation with the senior management team
• Providing customers with information on return and exchange policies
• Preparing promotional materials and displays in stores in consultation with the senior management
• Maintain continuous knowledge of new trends in the fashion industry and ensure that displayed stock is kept current
• Addressing customer complaints and issues in a professional mannerand escalate any query where necessary
