Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Credit Underwriting the main purpose of the role shall be:


To make Credit Risk Assessment for all Retail & SME [Unsecured & Secured] Portfolio loans with integrity and making appropriate decisions in line with the Barclay’s policies and procedures.


Responsibilities

Assessing of loan applications

  1. Assess application as per the policy guidelines / rules and make the appropriate decisions (approval, decline or reject) in line     with discretionary limits held
  2. Recommend all approved Retail and SME loans [Unsecured & Secured] for offer letters issuance
  3. Recommend all approved Retail and SME secured loans for security perfection as per held policies & procedures
  4. Ensure accuracy of information entered in the system and standard template (assessment form)  at all stages of the assessment process
  5. Adhere to timelines within the service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure efficiency and quick turnaround time (TAT) in Retail and SME loan processing
Control.
  1. Ensure that all Retail and SME loans meet the set product lending criteria before approval
  2. Ensure that all Retail and SME loan applications are captured on the system and have been vetted with the vetters stamp and signature
  3. Forward all suspicious Retail and SME loan applications to the fraud team for investigation
  4. Conduct snap checks as assigned by line manager
  5. Ensure safe custody of documents (Retail and SME loan applications and supporting documents), tools (Assessors stamp) and pass words to all systems
Customer service
  1. Respond to queries relating to the Retail and SME loan assessing process from various stakeholders with the set timelines
  2. Adhere to timelines within the service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure efficiency and quick turnaround time (TAT) in Retail and SME loan processing
Contribution to the team
  1. Share best practice and any red flags that are a result of the assessment process.
  2. Support other members of the front-end team and others in the Retail and SME loan processing team when required to ensure business continuity and achievement of business targets.
